Beyond Retro has been big on repurposing fashion and now the retailer has taken its sustainability focus to another level. It’s launching its newest and largest collection made entirely from material components diverted from landfill.

As part of the brand’s new Beyond Retro Label Initiative, all designs are made entirely from upcycled reclaimed material parts from the 99.9% of items that don’t usually make it to its shop floor and transformed into “bold, contemporary silhouettes… to bring you the very best in trend-led vintage” across all stores.
It takes its job very seriously as the brand “hoards quality”. Its raw material reserve “is a thing of beauty and a real beast to maintain”, it says as sorters file through 93 million pounds of clothes a year “to keep our shops stocked with vintage and our factory shelves flush with fabric”.
“It’s a goldmine of great stuff – and a good way to save 600,000 garments from landfill”, it added.
As a result, the Beyond Retro Label is made entirely from second-hand fabrics while trims and hardware are reused when possible.
This season includes statement hexagonal patchwork denim, embroidered cowboy shirts, cord jackets, suede outerwear, skirts and workwear-inspired zip-ups – “all part of Beyond Retro’s continued commitment to circular fashion”.
