Becky Lynch Def. Bayley And Lyra Valkyria
Fans went wild as soon as the bell rang, and the women in the ring worked the crowd to get even more energy. This encapsulated the chip-on-the-shoulder vibes for this women’s pay-per-view during a busy weekend for wrestling.
Lyra Valkyria once again shined, but Bayley and Becky Lynch matched her every step of the way. The story of this match was being one step ahead of two opponents, like a Chess match on speed.
Becky Lynch vultured the victory after Lyra Valkyria did all the heavy lifting. I feel like Lyra would benefit more from a heel turn than Bayley, who is nearly impossible to boo.
Becky Lynch vs. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria Grade: B+
Jacy Jayne Def. Jordynne Grace
Blake Monroe cornered Jordynne Grace, who was a very popular with the Atlanta crowd. I had a sneaky feeling about this.
Michael Cole repeated a Vic Joseph line by saying Jacy Jayne is the “most beatable NXT women’s champion in history.” Wade Barrett was having none of it, and put over Jacy Jayne like a million dollars.
Jayne worked over Grace’s neck as fans rallied behind Grace. Grace kicked out of a nearfall at the last possible millisecond and State Farm exploded.
Fatal Influence interfered on the outside, but Blake Monroe evened the odds. After wiping out Jayne’s cornerwomen, Monroe “accidentally” struck Jordynne Grace with the NXT Women’s Title. Jacy picked up the win, and Monroe’s accident was revealed to be a heel turn.
Jacy Jayne vs. Jordynne Grace Grade: B
Judgment Day Def. The Kabuki Warriors, Sol Ruca And Zaria And Charlotte Flair And Alexa Bliss
Sol Ruca and Zaria got a strong pop considering their lack of exposure on the main roster.
Charlotte Flair was lightly booed while walking to the ring, and based on the look Charlotte gave the crowd, that did not fall upon deaf ears.
During their entrance, Bliss and Flair were playing up the fact that they were starting to get along.
Raquel Rodriguez dominated early as the announce team compared her to Chyna and Beth Phoenix.
Fans chanted “We want Charlotte,” which was great to hear given how vulnerable she’s been in interviews this week. Charlotte Flair got the hottest of hot tags and exploded on Judgment Day.
Sol Ruca cut off Charlotte’s comeback with an excellent Sol Snatcher. Charlotte moved Bliss out of the way as Zaria accidentally speared Sol Ruca. Flair and Bliss got even closer. “This is awesome!” “Holy s—t!”
Raquel ended the match with a Tejana Bomb on Sol Ruca for the win.
Women’s Fatal 4-Way Grade: B+
Tiffany Stratton Def. Trish Stratus
Trish Stratus got the bigger babyface ovation during the ring introductions, but it was close.
Fans chanted “Tiffy Time” as the match began, but Stratton was booed as she dominated the opening moments of the match.
Stratus hit an impressive Stratusphere headstand from the apron to the outside.
Stratton came back like a house afire. She punctuated her offense with a Swanton Bomb where Stratton tucked her head at the last second.
Stratton came back again with a Stratusphere in the ring followed by a Chick Kick for a nearfall.
After blocking the PME, Trish Stratus scored with the Stratusfaction for a nearfall. Stratton won the match with an Alabama Slam followed by a PME.
