It’s a big week on the new Disney+ movies front, especially if you live in the UK. Indeed, British fans can stream four new movies on Disney+ this week (July 14-20), which is a remarkable number when you consider how few new films have actually joined on of the best streaming services‘ back catalog recently.
Fret not if you’re not based in the UK, though. Everyone except US subscribers can also check out The Amateur on Disney+ this week (it’s available on Hulu stateside) and/or peruse our best Disney+ movies guide for other great film-based suggestions. No matter where you live, then, you’ll find one or more new Disney+ movies worth investing in.

Disney+ is slowly building out its repertoire of political- and/or spy-thriller flicks, with the likes of the Mission: Impossible film series recently joining other flicks like Enemy of the State and JFK on its movie-based roster. Now, the Rami Malek-starring retelling of The Amateur has joined the party. In it, he plays a CIA cryptographer to takes matters into his own hands when his organization won’t help him get revenge on a group of terrorists who killed his wife. Overall, The Amateur‘s latest big-screen adaptation has been received positively by fans and critics alike (according to Rotten Tomatoes, anyway). So, if you’re looking to get your fill of the spycraft genre and Mr. Robot alumnus himself in Malek, I can heartily recommend this one.
Transformers

Release date: July 16 (available on Paramount+ in the US and Australia)
Runtimes: 145 minutes
Age rating: PG-13 (US); 12+ (UK)
Directors: Michael Bay

18 years on from its original release, the first live-action-CGI hybrid Transformers movie is now available on Disney+ UK. The franchise’s two Mark Wahlberg-starring flicks – Age of Extinction and The Last Knight – are also out on the streamer on British shores. Critics were mixed on the first Transformers upon its release, but fans lapped up its giant robots-in-disguise action, weird quips, and Bay’s high-octane camerawork. It’s certainly of its time, but it’s still the best ‘live-action’ Transformers film to date, so it’s well worth a trip down memory lane if you fancy watching alien machines punch seven bells out of each other!
Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires

Release date: July 11
Runtimes: 88 minutes
Age rating: TV-G (US); U (UK)
Directors: Paul Hoen
Main cast: Milo Manheim, Meg Donnelly, Kylee Russell, Chandler Kinney, Malachi Barton, Freya Skye, Julian Lerner, Swayam Bhatia, Mekonnen Knife, Lisa Chappell, and Jonno Roberts
Rotten Tomatoes (RT) score: TBC (critics); 76% (audiences)

The fourth entry in the popular monster musical comedy-drama film series, Dawn of the Vampires finally introduces the bloodsucking creatures. Indeed, after they arrive at one of the stops on their summer road trip, Zed and Addison find themselves at the center of a rivalry between Daywalkers and their night-faring adversaries. Cue another adventure where Zed and Addison must unite these foes to face a common and more deadly enemy. Zombies 4 isn’t likely to draw in many new viewers, but it’s devoted fanbase will enjoy having something new to sink their teeth into.
New Disney+ movies: coming soon
Unfortunately, there are no other new Disney+ movies set to make their debut on the platform before the end of the month.
That could change between now and July 31, but it’s more likely that new films will come to the service in August. Once I learn more about Disney+’s forthcoming new movies schedule, I’ll update this section.
