Today at Made by Google, we’re announcing 4x NBA Champion, 2x MVP and Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is officially joining Google as our new Performance Advisor as part of a long-term partnership spanning Google Health, Google Pixel and Google Cloud. As someone who uses technology to maximize every aspect of his own performance and health, Stephen will bring his unique perspective as a world-class athlete to help us fine-tune our products, train our algorithms and even design future hardware and features.
This hands-on work has already begun, with Stephen and his team of experts working with our health experts and product and AI engineers to test our new products and experiences, giving us incredibly valuable feedback. They’re sharing their coaching methods and philosophies, and suggesting ways we can improve its features to help everyone perform their best.
Aside from offering their invaluable input on the new personal health coach, Stephen and his team of experts are also switching to the entire Pixel portfolio, and they’ve shared how they benefit from all their devices working together: They use Pixel phones to stay in touch and tackle the day, Pixel Watches to track their performance and active lifestyles and Pixel Buds for seamless audio. And features like Gemini and Workspace tools help them get more done and manage their busy schedules.
Stephen isn’t only using Pixel: He’s also relying on AI from Google Cloud insights to improve his performance on the court. For example, AI insights will help analyze his shot quality, sharpen his workout strategy and continue to develop as a player. And he’ll utilize our AI Basketball Coach experience, which incorporates Gemini models on Vertex AI and MediaPipe to provide detailed form analysis, visual feedback and personalized coaching tips.
