Best known for its bags, Strathberry has expanded its reach by this week entering ready-to-wear and introducing its first cashmere collection.

Strathberry

Made in the brand’s home country, Scotland, we’re told the new pieces are “rooted in heritage and inspired by a commitment to conscious luxury”.

They include a range of capes and accessories such as gloves, scarves, beanie hats, cable headbands and travel wraps.

And they “showcase the best of Scotland’s world-renowned textile expertise. Crafted in world-renowned mills located on the west coast of Scotland and Hawick, ‘The Home of Cashmere’, in the Scottish Borders, the collection brings together generations of artisanal skill and pairs them with Strathberry’s contemporary aesthetic”.

The company said it’s used “the finest responsibly sourced fibres” for the pieces. To further emphasise the Scottishness of the collection, each piece has also been “carefully washed in the soft, natural waters of the Firth of Clyde in Ayrshire and the River Teviot in Hawick, a time-honoured process that helps create exceptionally soft cashmere renowned among the finest in the world”.

It added that every scarf, beanie, and glove is made with “cutting-edge Whole Garment technology. Produced three-dimensionally in a single piece, each item is completely seam-free, offering unmatched comfort and fit. With zero material waste and minimal post-production processing required, this innovative technology offers a more sustainable way of manufacturing – delivering high-quality accessories that are consciously crafted and comfortable”.

Prices range from £65/$90 up to £525/$750 with the collection available online at strathberry.com and in its Edinburgh and London boutiques.
