Luxury lingerie label La Perla is now part of the portfolio of Luxury Holding’s La Perla Atelier, MIMIT, the Italian ministry of business and made-in-Italy has said. It indicated that “following the transfer of the Bologna production facility, the sale of La Perla Manufacturing, previously in extraordinary administration, to La Perla Atelier, a company owned by Peter Kern through the Luxury Holding investment company, is now official. On the same day, the license to use the La Perla trademarks was transferred from the [La Perla] companies currently undergoing insolvency procedures in Italy and the UK to La Perla Atelier.”

The company said that as the Atelier reopens, it will focus on special re-editions, bespoke and made-to-order pieces, and new collections “that embody the brand’s most personal, timeless vision of luxury”.
And Kern, who’s the new Chairman of La Perla Atelier, said: “This moment marks a true rebirth of the La Perla spirit that began in that Atelier more than 70 years ago. It is a return to the vision, craft, and mastery that have defined La Perla since its beginning. Rooted in heritage, we step forward into our next chapter, where our artisans will once again define the pinnacle of the category for all women, by creating works of art made to be lived in, everyday.”
The aim is for the brand to “reaffirm its place as the global reference in luxury lingerie, uniting tradition and progress with clarity”.
MIMIT added that “as a result of the operation, all 199 employees involved in the procedures relating to La Perla Manufacturing and La Perla Global Management UK will be absorbed by the new entity. First will be the 163 employees of La Perla Manufacturing, while the transfer of the La Perla Global Management UK employees will be formalised in the next few days.” The Ministry further stated that “all employees have been safeguarded, and their skills have been recognised as essential by those who have decided to relaunch the La Perla group.”
Through Luxury Holding, “a unitary industrial solution has been found for one of the most significant defaults in [Italy’s] fashion sector, one of the most complex situations ever faced by MIMIT. For the first time, our offices have had to manage multiple procedures in different countries, involving legal complexities that seemed hard to resolve,” stated MIMIT.
Now that La Perla officially belongs to Luxury Holding’s La Perla Atelier, “a new manufacturing future can finally begin for La Perla. We have defended every job, safeguarded all workers and recognized the extraordinary value of their skills, a heritage the whole world envies [Italy]. It was an extraordinary outcome, the result of a genuine team effort. La Perla has been rescued, and can return to its rightful role on the international fashion scene,” said MIMIT Minister Adolfo Urso.
