i-D Magazine has appointed of Marcelo Gutierrez its global beauty editor-at-large, effective immediately. He will lead the publication’s first ever ‘beauty zine’, a limited edition print product set to launch in early 2026.

He joins after “emerging from New York’s underground art and nightlife scene [to] become an internationally-recognised make-up artist”.
i-D also said: “Utilising his multidisciplinary background he has created a signature visual language that fuses emotion, identity, and experimentation”.
It added that through his work Gutierrez has collaborated with leading artists and photographers with work appearing in Vogue US, Vogue Italia, Harper’s Bazaar, CR Fashion Book, and i-D. Commercial and creative partnerships span global houses such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, MAC, Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein.
In his new role, Marcelo “will help shape i-D’s beauty point-of-view across digital and print platforms; inclusive of the upcoming limited-edition print beauty zine and issue 376 releasing in spring of 2026”. He will also work as a make-up artist for some of i-D’s most prominent projects and editorial shoots.
Thom Bettridge, i-D Magazine editor-in-chief and chief brand officer, said: “I’ve long admired the complexity and depth within Marcelo’s work. He is an artist who has a unique understanding of the ways in which beauty is a reflection of culture, of how we actively choose to present ourselves to the world as people.”
