Skims opens second California store at South Coast Plaza

Skims opened on Wednesday its latest standalone store at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, just seven months after the debut of its first California store. 

Designed by Studio Oro, the South Coast Plaza boutique reflects Skims’ signature design codes, balancing strength and softness through rounded edges, geometric forms, and a neutral, skin-inspired palette.

The architectural storefront creates an immediate visual impact, while curved walls and seamless fixtures establish a sense of movement and fluidity throughout the space. Ambient lighting adds to the sensory experience, reinforcing the brand’s minimalist yet inviting aesthetic.

The store opened with a curated selection of Skims’ most popular collections, including Fits Everybody, Skims Body, Cotton Rib, Cotton Jersey, Cotton Fleece, and Soft Lounge. The store also carries pieces from Skims Mens, including Cotton Brief Packs, Cotton T-Shirts, and Fleece Lounge essentials.

The latest store opening joins other permanent store locations in New York, Los Angeles, Georgetown, Aventura, Austin, Houston, Atlanta, Boca Raton, Paramus, Las Vegas, Bloomington, Palo Alto, Tysons, and Mexico City. 

This week, Skims announced $225 million in new capital, valuing the shapewear label at $5 billion. The company said it plans to use the new capital to broaden its intimates and shapewear lines, expand further into apparel and activewear and enhance its retail presence and international growth.
