Packers’ All-Pro CB could draw interest from Ravens after his release

Jaire Alexander could be headed to Baltimore after being released by the Packers

The Green Bay Packers have parted ways with star defensive back Jaire Alexander after seven seasons, and Baltimore could be the perfect landing spot for the former Louisville cornerback.

Alexander played just seven games in 2024, marking the second straight season in which he missed at least ten games due to injury. This spring, general manager Brian Gutekunst told the media that Alexander’s absences have been “tough on the player [and] tough on the organization,” which signed the cornerback to an $84 million extension in 2022.

Pro Football Focus recently looked at six potential landing spots, and Alexander to Baltimore is a dream scenario.

This is another example of a team going all-in if the signing were to happen. The Ravens lost Brandon Stephens from last year’s secondary but still have Marlon Humphrey to play inside and out, as well as second-year cornerback Nate Wiggins, who could be in for a big season after earning a 69.0 PFF coverage grade as a rookie with 11 forced incompletions.

Baltimore signed Chidobe Awuzie to a one-year deal this offseason, but Alexander would be an upgrade over Awuzie’s 62.4 and 58.3 PFF coverage grades over the past two seasons.

The addition of Alexander could allow Marlon Humphrey to remain in the slot comfortably.
