Ticket Sales Surge Ahead of Paige Bueckers vs. Kaitlyn Chen Matchup originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
There's been a lot of anticipation leading up to the matchup between the Dallas Wings and Golden State Valkyries on Tuesday night.
The matchup between the struggling Wings and the first-year expansion team Valkyries will feature two former college teammates facing off for the first time in their WNBA careers.
2025 No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers will go up against her former UConn teammate Kaitlyn Chen.
As tipoff approaches, Valkyries guard Kaitlyn Chen is set to take the court in potentially her WNBA debut – a surprise to many considering she was waived by Golden State before the start of the regular season.
The move sparked controversy, as the Valkyries had selected Chen in the third round of the 2025 WNBA Draft.
Golden State would then proceed to bring Chen back, and on June 15, she resigned with the Valkyries before briefly pursuing other opportunities in the 3XBA league.
The anticipation of this matchup has been heavy in recent days, and it's been reflected in the Dallas Wings' ticket sales.
