Steelers chosen over Giants by Aaron Rodgers due to roster concerns

Aaron Rodgers‘ decision to sign with the Steelers over the Giants has been simplified by insider Albert Breer — it’s all about the roster.

On Wednesday’s episode of The Rich Eisen Show, Breer shared why Rodgers chose the Steel City over the Big Apple:

“The Giants were going to ask him to do what the Jets asked him to do — which was take a young core that’s got talent in it, and lift it up,” Breer said. “And I believe the reason he picked the Steelers over the Giants was because he’d be jumping on a moving train with guys who are legitimately his peers. T.J. Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Cam Heyward — I mean, they’re not as old as him, but obviously the more veteran players in the league.”

Rodgers previously spoke highly of Watt as one of the strong leaders in Pittsburgh — but it appears the veteran Steelers played a big role in his decision to sign.
