Man United given major Rashford headache as Fabrizio Romano confirms INEOS decision

Manchester United have reportedly named their price for Marcus Rashford who has officially returned to the club.

The 27-year-old was ousted from Ruben Amorim’s plans back in December, which prompted his exit in January.  Rashford signed for Aston Villa on loan with an option to buy for £40 million, and he managed to produce solid displays under Unai Emery.

However, the Englishman’s stint has now expired, with the Birmingham-based club deciding against keeping him on a permanent basis. This is mainly due to the absence of Champions League football next season, which will deprive the club of sizable revenues in prize money.

In the latest video uploaded on his official YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Man Utd still want £40 million to sell their academy product.

The England international has long been dreaming about a move to Barcelona, but this transfer might be difficult to materialise, especially amidst the Catalans’ FFP troubles and their vigorous pursuit of Nico Williams.

Moreover, The Athletic’s Mark Critchley believes Man United might find it difficult to offload Rashford this summer, especially at the current asking price.

The journalist reveals that the Old Trafford outfit has only been receiving loan proposals thus far, with no suitors making an offer to buy the Manchester native on a permanent transfer.

This is certainly a blow for INEOS as they are keen to raise funds by selling Amorim’s outcast, especially Rashford who remains one of the club’s highest earners with a weekly salary of £325,000.

In addition to the Englishman, the Red Devils are also keen to find buyers for Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia and potentially Rasmus Hojlund.
