‘My Life With The Walter Boys’ Returns August 28 On Netflix

Call it Party of Five meets Virgin River. And mark your calendars for season two of My Life with the Walter Boys, which drops on Thursday, August 28. The announcement was made by the show’s stars, Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde, and Ashby Gentry, at the Calgary Stampede, an annual rodeo, exhibition, and festival held every July in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

The scoop: Looking to capitalize on the success of the sudsy Virgin River with an eye on the younger demographics, My Life with the Walter Boys, based on Ali Novak’s 2014 novel of the same name, follows recently orphaned Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), a teenage girl from Manhattan who relocates to rural Colorado after she is taken in by the Walters, a family of eight children – seven sons and one daughter. The series was developed by Melanie Halsall.

There Jackie finds herself attracted to two of the Walter boys. The first is Noah Lalonde as the hunky “rebel without a cause” Cole Walter, the fraternal twin of Danny (Connor Stanhope) who used to be quarterback at Silver Falls High School but suffered from a career-ending injury. Then there is Ashby Gentry as Alex Walter, the more bookish type who also pines for Jackie.

By the end of season one, Jackie decides to leave for New York, and away from this lingering love triangle. After a kiss with Cole, leaves a note for Alex and departs with her uncle, leaving viewers to wonder about her future with the Walter boys. Will she return? Will Cole or Alex go after her? Will the brothers mend their broken fences?

Inquiring fans (including this age 60+ writer who is not the target audience) want to know, and we will start getting answers by summer end! More good news: My Life with the Walter Boys is already renewed for season three in 2026. So, there will be plenty of emotional mishegoss (translation: craziness, foolishness, or nonsensical behavior) to keep us hungry for more.
