Here Are The All Star Home Run Derby Participants

Eight Major League Baseball sluggers will compete in the 2025 T Mobile Home Run Derby.

The Home Run Derby is scheduled to take place at 8PM ET, Monday, July 14 at Truest Park, home of the Atlanta Braves.

Along with the MLB All-Star Futures Game, and the MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game, the Home Run Derby is a much anticipated annual event during All Star Week.

This year, there are some new faces in the Home Run Derby lineup of stars.

The Home Run Derby began in 1985, with the event’s first national telecast being held in 1994.

The first Home Run Derby winner was the late Dave Parker, who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame posthumously later this month.

Parker hit six home runs to win the event at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minnesota.

Last year’s winner, Teoscar Hernandez of the Los Angeles Dodgers is not participating this year. Hernandez hit 49 homers to win the crown, and the $1M prize.

Through the years, the format has changed for the Derby.

All eight players will compete in the opening round. The top four performers will advance, with elimination until there is a winner.

The first round will give each hitter three minutes to hit. The final round will consist of only two minutes.

If there is a tie in the semifinals, or final rounds, a 60-second swing-off will occur.
