Time Studios and the Project Management Institute (PMI) have launched “The Solutionaries”, a new documentary series profiling innovators driving scalable transformation to combat the climate crisis.

The first episode, premiering Wednesday, puts a fashion-forward spotlight on sustainability through the story of Cyrill Gutsch, founder of Parley for the Oceans.
A German-born designer turned environmental advocate, Gutsch founded Parley to unite creators, thinkers, and leaders in protecting marine ecosystems. His organization is redefining material innovation across the fashion and design industries through Parley Future Material, a platform pioneering biofabrication, green chemistry, and sustainable alternatives to traditional, often toxic, materials.
In 2024 alone, Parley intercepted over 1.6 million kilograms of debris from the environment, cleaning more than 16 million square metres of ocean and coastal areas. The brand’s collaborative approach has led to high-profile partnerships within fashion, most notably with Dior, with whom Parley recently released its third beachwear capsule collection. The collection features fabrics crafted entirely from innovative materials, including 30% Parley Ocean Plastic, setting a new benchmark for eco-innovation in luxury fashion.
“The Solutionaries demonstrate that the answers to our greatest challenges often come from individuals with the courage to build the world they imagine,” said Menaka Gopinath, chief marketing officer at PMI.
“To deliver real-world impact and address the urgent climate crisis, these innovations need to be unleashed – the world can’t afford to keep them in experimental labs. That’s where the power of project management to scale innovation makes all the difference and The Solutionaries are doing just that.”
Further episodes go live on Tuesday, October 28 and Monday, November 10.
