It’s been a long time since the Gap banner appeared over a standalone UK store. But the giant US casualwear brand is about to make its return with a store at London Designer Outlet (LDO) in Wembley Park, opening 12 December.

The 5,600 sq ft location marks Next-operated Gap’s first standalone outlet in the UK since it shit its standalone chain several years ago and will offer the band’s menswear, womenswear, and childrenswear collections.
Gap’s only other other UK physical store has operated on London’s Oxford Street for a few years as part of Next’s range of umbrella brands.
Matt Slade, Retail director at operator Quintain, said: “Gap is a fantastic addition to our growing line-up of global fashion names. LDO continues to attract both new and returning brands who value our strong London location and consistently high performance.
“Our audience reflects a truly London and global visitor base of price-savvy, brand conscious shoppers, combined with the boost of year-round event footfall, it ensures international brands consistently see their ideal customer here, and benefit from enhanced exposure to a greater diversity of new visitors.”
The letting to Gap follows the recent arrivals of Crocs, Rituals and Miniso retail brands, as LDO continues to expand its offer for London shoppers.
