Performance Days poised to launch autumn 2027/28 edition in Munich

The Performance Days trade show is about to kick off. On October 29 and 30, the Munich textile trade fair will open its doors for its Autumn 2027/28 edition-“fully booked, with packed halls, high-calibre exhibitors and a diverse supporting programme”- as the organisers look to reaffirm the B2B format’s position as the leading trade fair for performance fabrics and sustainable textile innovations.

Trade visitors can look forward to a varied programme featuring high-calibre exhibitors, new areas, inspiring trend forums, the current Focus Topic, and an expanded footwear area. Another highlight is the Innovation Hub by FFE, developed in cooperation with the Future Fabrics Expo.

The new conference format, Day 0, dedicated to the issue of waste in the textile industry, begins on Tuesday, October 28, a day before the fair opens. Under the motto “In nature, there is no waste”, discussions will centre on the circular economy, resource use and fresh perspectives.

Workshops, group discussions and practical case studies will demonstrate how so-called “waste” can be transformed into valuable resources and what steps are needed along the value chain. Experts include Alexandra Wittwer (BSI), Manuel Schweizer (OceanSafe) and Moritz Schnäpsmeier (Sitex). The day will be hosted by Bowie Miles and Charles Ross, who will offer impetus and inspiration from different perspectives.

The October edition also puts one of the industry’s defining future issues centre stage with the new Focus Topic “Textile to Textile – The Role of Recyclers”. The days of the linear “take-make-dispose” model are over. Legal requirements such as EPR and PEFCR are making the circular economy mandatory. Recyclers play a key role by developing technologies to return fibres to the cycle.

For the third time, the natural fibre wool will be a focal point of the trade fair. With a dedicated Wool Area and the Wool Forum, the versatility and sustainability of the material will take centre stage.
