International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) names Juan Parés Boj as its new president

The International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), an organisation that brings together textile associations and companies from around the world, has appointed Juan Parés Boj, CEO and president of Textil Santanderina, as its new president. The appointment, formalised last Friday, October 24, during the Annual Conference held in the Indonesian city of Yogyakarta, was communicated by the Asociación Industrial Textil del Proceso Algodonero (Aitpa) and the Fundación Textil Algodonera (FTA), two Spanish organisations. This is the third time a Spanish cotton industry executive has assumed the presidency of the federation, highlighting the international profile of Spain’s textile industry.

“Assuming the presidency of the ITMF is an honour and a great responsibility. At a time of transformation for our industry, we must strengthen international cooperation and make a firm commitment to sustainability, innovation and responsible competitiveness,” said Juan Parés Boj following his election. The new president has an extensive track record in the sector and has shown a firm commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the internationalisation of the textile industry.

This appointment reinforces the presence and leadership of Spanish companies in the sector’s main international forums, and highlights the active role played by companies and professionals linked to Aitpa and the Fundación Textil Algodonera in boosting competitiveness and global cooperation.

For his part, Xavier Morera, president of Aitpa, stressed that “Juan Parés’ career and commitment are an example of leadership and vision, showcasing the excellence and innovative capacity of our companies,” while Manu Díaz, president of the Fundación Textil Algodonera, emphasised that “the election of a Spanish businessman to head the ITMF reinforces the relevance of our companies and their active role in promoting a more sustainable and collaborative future for the industry.”
