Canada’s Garage label is setting foot in the UK next year with a debut in London for the brand known for its “elevated off-duty essentials and bold attitude”.

It will open its first-ever UK flagship on Oxford Street next spring and said there will be “more to follow”.
VP of merchandising Mary Ann Vitale said that the UK “is a global style capital and the perfect place to connect with a new generation of unapologetic, confident girls. We’ve seen the love across North America — now we’re ready to bring that same heat overseas. Everything we do comes straight from our community and the culture around her.”
The 50-year-old Montreal-based company these days focuses on monthly drops “designed to keep [the customer’s] closet — and her feed — ahead of the curve”.
It’s not known exactly where on Oxford Street it will open but its arrival there will be yet another indicator of the recovery of what was once Europe’s busiest shopping street but that turned into a virtual ghost town during and just after the pandemic.
Notable mainly for shuttered shops and a proliferation of so-called American candy stores, it was a sorry sight.
But in the last two or three years it has once again become the key location for UK brands to open flagships, as well as the thoroughfare of choice for international brand seeking to roll out across Britain.
