Converse has appointed Chavon Webster as its new vice president of global footwear and design.

Webster joined Nike in February 2022 as director of kids’ lifestyle footwear and was promoted to senior director of women’s sport and training footwear in December 2023. Before her time at Nike, Webster spent nearly eight years at New Balance in roles spanning lifestyle apparel and footwear, including senior project manager for cultural moments.
“Truly overjoyed to join the Converse family as vice president, global footwear and design. It is an honor to lead this incredible team as we continue to deepen our relationships with consumers, fuel product innovation, and accelerate our growth,” Webster announced on LinkedIn.
She will relocate to Boston for the new role, which comes as Nike undergoes restructuring under new CEO Elliott Hill. As part of his “sport-first” strategy, Nike confirmed plans last month to cut less than 1% of its corporate workforce and reorganize teams around sport-obsessed consumer groups such as running, soccer, and football.
Hill is also betting on Converse to lift the company’s broader portfolio. In July, Aaron Cain, Nike’s vice president and general manager of men’s, was promoted as Converse’s new CEO.
Converse has faced ongoing headwinds, with revenues falling for eight straight quarters. In 2024, the brand contributed less than 4% of Nike’s overall sales, down from the 5–7% range it consistently represented after Nike began disclosing Converse’s results separately in 2012.
